These little frames were fun to put together.
The inner opening is about 2 x 3 inches.

Wild Sweet Peas

I didn't have to go far to find these wild sweet peas!

These cheery little flowers are abundant this year.

Work in Progress

I'm working on this wildfower collage in a black frame.
Outside measurement of the frame is 16 x 9.

The design above contains blue flax, Golden Alexander, grass and yarrow fern.

The above design has prairie smoke and prairie crocus.

This one has wild gaillardia and wild bluebells.

Here's another look...it's not glued yet, so it might change!

Harbinger of Spring

See all those little purple spots? Yes, crocuses!

In the photo below, that is snow on the right side of the post,
water from snow melt on the left side...

The crocuses are abundant this year.

When there has been more moisture, it seems there
are more groups of multiple crocuses.

January...and the flowers are sleeping!

To those of you who faithfully check this blog, don't give up on it! I usually take the month of January to work on some other projects, and the flowers are all packed away.

There is a new post on our semi annual craft mall. It is down below the last post, dated 12/6/08.

It is possible I may have a "real" website in the near future! If and when that happens, I will post a link here. I hope to still use this blog to journal the ongoing process of my flower pressing and the finished products.

Craft Bazaar. December 5-6

We had an enjoyable and successful craft fair this weekend. My sister
decided she was going to get some pictures, so here they are...
I decided to put these glass frames on sale, and we sold several.

We came early Saturday morning to set up the "sale box" and
generally straighten up the tables. I am trying to remove the
fingerprint smudges from some of the frames.

The bazaar was open Friday evening from 4-8, and we
were busy most of the time. It was fun! There were some
quiet times during the day Satureday, but it still turned
out to be a good day for sales.

Remember the "last minute" projects from the previous post?
Well, I completed 14 framed designs that day, and sold 12 of
them at this craft bazaar! I was glad I followed through on that impulse!

Holiday Arts and Crafts Mall December 2008

Twice a year a group of crafters in our area
open an "Arts and Crafts Mall" in a basement
room of the "Little Muddy Dry" store. I took
a few pictures of our December opening.

Here is an overview of the room:

saddle is probably about 4 inches long.

we had baby afghans, tatted ornaments, and fuzzy scarves

One lady makes felted wool purses.

We had many different kinds of notecards

doilies galore...

solar light stakes

and many other items too numerous to mention!

last minute

We leave tomorrow for a craft bazaar. I finished packing the frames and table
props this morning, so had time to make a few more pansy designs. Here are
some of the works in prosgress...

A colorful start to December

We had a beautiful sunrise Monday morning. (This is what's left of
the snow that came the day after election day.) We're headed to a craft
bazaar this weekend. It's about 80 miles from here.

Latest version of an old standard....

I call this design my "botanical" and I've been doing variations on
this theme for several years. It always turns out a little different,
depending on the character of the prairie smoke, etc, I use. I was
pleased with this one.

Enameled frames

I have enjoyed these enameled frames. This first one has
a swirly green finish. The opening is 4 x 6.

This little frame is a 3 x 3 square.
I like the bright orange cosmos with the dark green frame.

Pansies and Violas

My friend reminded me it's been a while since I've had anything new on here!
The above frames have a 4 x 6 opening. The frame is bergundy.

This was a 2 x 3 frame, it sold at the last craft fair. One lady had been looking at it, then another lady came by and picked it up and purchased it.
(oh, dear!)

New Frames!

These frames are made from recycled barnwood. This one still has the orange red faded paint from the barn. I was trying to decide how I would use this frame, and decided I could use a picture of a nice orange/red barn.
And, on a recent jaunt, this is what I found. I think it will work
pretty well....now to get the pictures printed somewhere!
